Happy Birthday Nicole!

Our Colie girl turned 10 yesterday! She is growing up so fast, it's hard to believe. She celebrated the day with a roller skating birthday party. Since it was just a little too soon for me or Claire to leave the house Matt jumped in and took over the party! He did a great job and the kids loved him. I think that the 2 boys who were at the party were especially glad he was there since they were outnumbered 2 to 5! They all had a ball and Nicole came home happy. She got lots of fun presents and even a POCKET KNIFE from Matt! (It was a true Christmas Story moment...Matt telling a very concerned Nancy, "I had one when I was her age.") Her big gift is horseback riding lessons that start on Tuesday. She's very excited. We love our girl!!

One Week Old

Claire is one week old today! It's been a wonderful, tiring, exciting last few days at our house. The kids have really loved holding, bathing, and kissing on their new baby sister. While sometimes they can be more help than I need, I have to admit it is nice to have some extra arms around when I need a "baby holder". Claire had a check-up on Monday and had gained an ounce since coming home, putting her at 5 lbs. 15 oz. It's so fun to watch her "wake-up" to the world. Although I wish she would do it more when the sun is up and less when we should all be asleep! Maybe I'll just have a talk with her and explain about sleeping through the night. : ) If that doesn't work I think we'll keep her anyway. We all kind of like her!! Love, Nancy

Welcome to the world Baby Claire!

Hi everyone! Here are the promised pictures of our new little sweetie. Claire was born Thursday, June 19th at 9:54pm. She weighed in at a surprisingly little 6 lbs. 3 oz. and measured 19 in. long. She came pretty quickly once the doctor got things going and I am feeling great. We are so happy to have her here and healthy. She is such a cutie and so very sweet. As you can imagine the kids are crazy about her and we might have to create a “Can I hold Claire?” schedule. We are very excited to have her in our family!! The pictures here are of Claire just a few hours old, Claire when she came home from the hospital, and I threw one in of Matt with his basketball team! Love you all! Nancy

Matt's Birthday

Hi again! It's surprising how hard it has been just to find the time to work on this blog. I had hoped to be a real pro by now so that I can keep you updated on the baby when she comes this week, but I'm just barely learning how to add a new post! Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from Matt's birthday. We borrowed Grandpa's canoe and took it to the reservoir here in town. The kids had a BLAST!! Nicole and Corinne got to learn how to use the paddles and they even caught a fish or two. Paige and Spencer took turns in the canoe while I stayed safely on the shore! Love, Nancy
